The lovely friends, new and old, that I hung out with this past Fourth of July. Instead of seeing fireworks in the damp, awful humidity that was our holiday evening, we stayed in side and watched the Ducktales movie. AMURICA.

My da! Looking unusually earnest. Also seen: the chocolate raspberry mousse cheesecake thingamadessert I made him for Father's Day. My father is the backbone of my life in a lot of ways - he at once encourages me to fend for myself and always has my back, and I know he'd do anything for me, because he pretty much already has done it all.
Love you, Da.

Icepops! The treat of grade school picnics everywhere. Perfect for a blistering day like this Memorial Day was.

Finally! The results of the tart crust seen last week. Strawberry lemon tart, made for my mum for a belated Mother's Day present.

Happy May Day!
To celebrate of the start of my springtime favorite month, I went out and bought a special fruit for myself. Behold, the mango. Just look at those colors. How can you not want to sink your teeth in?
Most decadent fruit ever. Just look at all that juice. Mmm.

Happy Easter! Or Eostre, if we're being properly pagan. This is my family's Easter set up - complete with baskets for the kids and the dyed eggs of years past as the centerpiece.

Happy Run-The-Poor-Pagans-Out-Of-Ireland Day! I celebrate with a distinct lack of green. Look! More flowers!

I had wanted to make cookies for Valentine's Day, but this month got so crazy I didn't have time to breathe, let alone bake. I barely had time to make these - made the dough one night and put it in the fridge, then baked and decorated the following night.
These turned out so tasty, though - well worth the wait and not worrying about things like dates. They're sugar cookies dipped in white chocolate and with M&Ms placed on. I added a little red food coloring to the dough to give the cookie itself a tie-dyed red look. Yum!

The Valentine I got my boyfriend. I'm glad they've started to make valentines for sarcastic people...

It's my birthday today! And this is a picture of the absolutely decadent chocolate birthday cake Jules and his family surprised me with our last night in Puerto Rico. I love surprises and I'm enough of a nerd to still be excited about my day.

Happy New Year! I spent last night out on the streets with three of my dearest people, seen here. Two best friends and The Boyfriend (as he was aptly titled all night.) Can't think of three I'd like more to ring in the New Year with.
Welcome to 2011, everyone. Here's to keeping this madness going!

This is the dessert I made for my family's official Christmas dinner: candy cane chocolate chip cheesecake. Weather conditions being what they were this weekend, we were unable to make it to the family get-together; tragically, my immediate family and I had to eat the cake ourselves. It was a painful trial, I tell you. (My dad had seconds.)

O Tannenbaum. My family always gets a huge Christmas tree, a real proper-sized one really. This year's model is somewhat slim around the middle - I think it looks like it hit a growth spurt. I wasn't around to help decorate this year for the first time, but my special angel ornaments are still hung up all over the branches.
