Doesn't seem possible that it could be the end of April already!  In honor of May and the oncoming summer, I bought these tiny red rosebush yesterday.  I'm calling her Cheri - because I'm a dork like that.

Totems collected today from a friend's holy and artsy business.  One is the Tree of the Goddess with the snake spiral of spiritual energy winding down its trunk.  The other is a Kundalini snake for inspiration and divination.

Jenga blocks can also make very good building tools for tiny houses.  As I discovered today.

The dessert I made for Easter dinner - it's a dark chocolate strawberry tart, with a chocolate glaze and sugar cookie crust.  Decadent.  This is one of the best things I've ever made.

Happy Easter!  Or Eostre, if we're being properly pagan.  This is my family's Easter set up - complete with baskets for the kids and the dyed eggs of years past as the centerpiece.

The show I'm in is wrapping up tonight.  These dry roses are from opening.  Time to move on to the next project!

Arts and crafts with a purpose today, done with my tiny ward for her daddy.  She was more the designer element - I was the grunt labor.

I listen to a LOT of audiobooks nowadays - I have a very long morning commute, and sometimes the radio just isn't reliable.  And listening to Neil Gaiman's heavenly voice read beautifully disturbing children's stories is a perfect way to start my day.

The beginnings of jambalaya coming together.  Looks like a witch's brew, doesn't it?

These are oatmeal white chocolate cranraisin cookies.  They were made for a sweet brunch snack today by me and my lovely guest.  Be jealous.

This is not just delicious chocolate raspberry cake - this is special, boyfriend-is-very-thoughtful-and-brought-me! cake.  Which is always much tastier than any other kind.

This is two grown men bouncing up and down on a seesaw.  One of them is wearing a diaper and a huge paper mask.

Ah, performance art.

I love wine.  And the boyfriend, by virtue of his willingness to dance sexily for charity, got the chance to pick out an entire case for free.  These are some of the ones we chose, and they are all just delicious.

It was finally a gorgeous day outside, a proper spring again.   And I got to spend a good chunk of it playing on this playground.

Seen on early morning drive - reads "SOCIETY WILL EAT YOU."   Don't know if it's an April Fool's thing or a private pranking.  Any way, it's hilarious.

Colored pencils are the most useful tool in my director's bag right now - I'm no artist, but even I can doodle a scene with these babies.
